1. Who this policy applies to

This policy applies to the public GardenSolved website and its English-language gardening questions, answers, and topic pages.

The website operator is Smart Croatia Travel, operated by Ana Kukulj, Kemptener Straße 20, 89250 Senden, Germany. Privacy questions can be sent to contact@smartcroatiatravel.com.

2. Information processed by the current site

The current site does not offer user accounts, contact forms, newsletters, comments, question submissions, or user-uploaded content. It does not currently use advertising, affiliate tracking, or marketing pixels.

GardenSolved uses Cloudflare to host, deliver, and protect the website. Cloudflare may process the requested URL (including a search query), date and time, IP address, browser or device information, and related network metadata to deliver requests, protect the service, and troubleshoot problems. GardenSolved does not use this technical request information for advertising or user profiling. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in delivering and securing the website, preventing abuse, and diagnosing service problems (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)). If Cloudflare Workers Logs are enabled for the Worker, Cloudflare documents retention of 3 days on Workers Free and 7 days on Workers Paid; the applicable period depends on the account plan. Because Cloudflare operates a global network, request information may be processed outside the EEA. Applicable transfer safeguards are described in Cloudflare's data-protection terms. Cloudflare describes its processing in its Data Processing Addendum and Workers Logs documentation.

If you use the search feature, your search term is placed in the page address so the results page can be loaded. No account or submission is created by using search. The site does not send the search query as a Google Analytics search term; page views are configured to send only the page origin and path, without query strings.

3. Analytics and consent

When analytics is enabled for the site, GardenSolved uses Google Analytics 4 only after you choose “Accept analytics” in the privacy banner. If you reject analytics, the Google Analytics script is not loaded and GardenSolved does not intentionally set Google Analytics cookies.

When analytics is enabled, Google Analytics may process information about pages viewed, interactions with the site, browser or device information, approximate location, and first-party analytics identifiers. GardenSolved's GA4 property is configured to retain user-level and event-level data for 2 months, without resetting that period when new activity occurs. Google says data is deleted automatically after the retention period; this setting does not affect standard aggregated reports. Google states that Google Analytics does not log or store individual IP addresses from users in the European Union, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom.

We use analytics to understand how the site is used and which gardening content is helpful so that we can improve GardenSolved. We rely on your consent for this optional analytics processing. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time by selecting “Privacy settings” on the site. The site has disabled GA4's automatic browser-history page views and automatic site-search measurement; manually sent page views include only the origin and path, without query strings.

GardenSolved disables Google signals and advertising-personalization signals in its Google Analytics configuration. Google Analytics is provided by Google and is subject to Google’s applicable privacy and data-protection terms, including its data processing terms. Analytics cookies and similar storage are used only with your consent. Google may process analytics information outside the EEA; applicable transfer safeguards are described in Google's data-protection terms.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

Necessary technical mechanisms may be used by the hosting platform to provide a secure and functioning website. GardenSolved also stores your analytics choice locally so that the site can remember whether you accepted or rejected optional analytics.

If you accept analytics, Google Analytics may set first-party analytics cookies such as _ga and related _ga_* cookies. Their configured lifetime is 60 days from when they are set and visits do not extend that period. If you later withdraw consent, GardenSolved disables further Analytics collection for the configured measurement ID and attempts to remove those first-party Analytics cookies from the site. The analytics choice itself is stored in your browser's local storage so the site can remember it.

5. External links

GardenSolved pages may link to other websites, including gardening resources or product pages. Those websites have their own privacy practices, and GardenSolved is not responsible for their content or processing activities. Any affiliate relationship will be disclosed clearly before affiliate links are introduced.

6. Your data protection rights

Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, people in the European Economic Area may have rights including access to personal data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, objection, and data portability. You may also have the right to complain to a data protection supervisory authority. The competent supervisory authority for private-sector organisations in Bavaria is the Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht (BayLDA); you may also complain to the authority in your place of residence, work, or the alleged infringement.

7. Changes to this policy

This policy will be updated if the site adds or materially changes services such as analytics, advertising, affiliate links, newsletters, accounts, or question submissions. The update date at the bottom of this page will change whenever the policy is revised.
